Surgery

Surgery (от old-Greek χείρ — «hand» и ἔργον — «action, work») – is a part of medicine dealing with diagnostics and surgical treatment of acute and chronic diseases.
Practically all medical specializations may require surgical assistance.

MediClub provides for scheduled and urgent surgical treatment in areas as mentioned below:

■ out-patient surgery – provision of surgical aid in out-patient care, with no hospitalization taking place. Minor surgical procedures are being carried out both in MediClub Polyclinic and in MediClub Hospital. Out-patient surgical care is being rendered in case of purulent-inflammatory diseases of skin and subcutaneous tissue, benign neoplasms (birthmarks, warts, lipomas), injuries and traumas. Also, several gynaecological procedures (diagnostic uterus and endocervical curettage, cervical biopsy, radio wave excision, conization and coagulation of uterus cervix, and proctological (removal of anal fimbria, perianal condylomas, anal polyps) may be performed in minor surgery rooms. In cases required, radio wave apparatus “Surgitron” allowing to significantly reduce rehabilitation period is being used during a surgery.

■ abdominal surgery is a surgical treatment of abdominal organs’ diseases. Following surgeries are available in MediClub Hospital: laparoscopic hernioplasty (treatment of inguinal, umbilical, post-surgical hernias), midline hernia treatment, hiatal hernia treatment, laparoscopic cholecystectomy (gall bladder removal), laparoscopic appendectomy (appendix removal), laparoscopic splenectomy (spleen removal), laparoscopic liver excision, enterectomy, transverse colectomy, sigmoidectomy, esophageal diverticulum removal.

■ operative otorhinolaryngology is surgical treatment of various diseases of ENT-organs. ENT-surgeries performed in MediClub Hospital: septoplasty, adenoidectomy (removal of adenoids), maxillary sinusotomy, rhinoplasty, tonsillectomy (removal of tonsils), functional endoscopic sinus surgery (nasal and paranasal surgery, conchotomy, radiowave vasotomy of nasal conchas, open and close reduction of nasal bone fractures, opening and drainage of peritonsillar (retropharyngeal) abscesses, eardrum shunting, removal of foreign bodies of ear, throat and nose.

■ surgical gynaecology includes diagnostics and surgical treatment of female reproductive system diseases. Gynaecological surgeries performed in MediClub: Bartholin’s cyst drainage, hysteroscopy, uterine cavity curettage, polypectomy (endometrial and/or cervical polyps removal), laparoscopic ovariectomy (ovary removal), adnexectomy (removal of the adnexa of the uterus), ovarian cysts’ removal, tubectomy (removal of fallopian tubes), myomectomy, total hysterectomy (extirpation of uterus), amputation of the uterus, vaginoplasty (colporrhaphy), labiaplasty (vulval plastic surgery).

■ surgical urology

■ surgical traumatology – surgical treatment of acute and chronic diseases, as well as traumas and injuries of bones and joints. MediClub Hospital provides for arthroscopy of joints, open and closed reduction of nasal fracture bones, all kinds of osteosynthesis.

■ surgical proctology – surgical treatment of rectum and anal area diseases. Surgeries available in MediClub Hospital are: hemorroidectomy, rubber band ligation of hemorrhoids, anal fissure excision, proctoplasty, rectal polyp removal.

■ urgent surgery – provision of urgent surgical care. Urgent surgeries are being carried out in cases of acute abdominal and pelvic diseases: acute appendicitis, acute pancreatitis, acute cholecystitis, gastro-intestinal bleeding, strangulated hernia, perforated peptic ulcer, acute intestinal obstruction, ectopic pregnancy, ovarian apoplexy (rupture), ruptured ovarian cyst.
